Jim was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1943, and grew up in the Urbana area. He received both his
undergraduate and law degrees from The Ohio State University and was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1969. Jim was a U.S. Navy JAG officer from 1969-1971. Jim is also admitted to practice before the U.S.
District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Public service as a prosecutor has been a large part of Jim's law career.
He served as Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Troy from 1971 to 1976, was the Miami County Prosecuting Attorney from 1981 to 1985 and was the
Municipal Prosecutor for the Village of West Milton for 15 years from 1987 through 2002.
Jim is a member of the Miami County Bar Association (past secretary /
treasurer) and the Ohio State Bar Association. He has been a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR
) since 1990 and is currently a sustaining member of that organization.
Jim practices primarily in the areas of Social Security Disability, Probate and
Estate Planning, Employment Law and Personal Injury.
