Chuck was born on December 5, 1947 in Alliance, Ohio. He spent his high school years in Falls Church, Virginia. He received his B.A. degree from Western Michigan in 1970 and his law degree from the University of Toledo in 1973 where he was honored to be chosen as a member of the Law Review. He was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in 1973.

Chuck practices in a variety of areas, with an emphasis on Family Law, Divorce, Dissolution and Adoption. Chuck has also had extensive public law experience which includes Assistant Law Director for the City of Troy from 1976 to 1981, First Assistant Miami County Prosecuting Attorney from 1981 to 1985, and Law Director for the Village of West Milton from 1987 to the present.
